DESCRIPTION:On Thursday November 7, 2024, after sunset, Bernard Vianney Saunders “Super B” George passed away after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia in Ajax, Ontario, Canada.\nBernard was born on August 25, 1955, in Betsy Ground, Canje Berbice, Guyana to Reuben and Kathleen George. He was the last of eight children and attended St. Patrick Anglican School. His first job was at the Reliance Post Office in East Canje, Berbice. He then moved on to work at the Archives in Georgetown.\nIn 1975, Bernard migrated to Washington D.C., USA to study, where he spent 1 year. He then moved to Toronto Ontario, Canada where he worked at Royal Trust and later at Steelcase.\nBernard returned to Guyana to marry Myrtle Jennifer Thompson on December 31, 1977. From their union, they had two daughters, Natasha and Renata. From which Natasha gave birth to his three grandsons, Jeffery (JJ), Chauncey, and Karter.\nFor some he was affectionately known as “Super B” for Djing and party promotion, particularly during Caribana in Toronto. He was responsible of bringing to Toronto some well-known Soca/Calypso artists early in their career. One of his favourite pastimes was travelling and visiting the world on cruises.\nBernard is preceded in death by his father, Reuben, his mother, Kathleen, his brother, Michael, and his sister Eileen. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; his two daughters: Natasha (m. Jeff Martin) and Renata; three grandsons: Jeffery (JJ), Chauncey, and Karter; five siblings: Ruby Hazel, Leslie George, Louis George, Elizabeth (Gwenette) Ceres, and Audrey George. He also leaves behind his sixteen nieces and nephews: Hartley, Paula, Michele, Harrington, Adrienne, Althea, Elton, Duane, Marc, Edna (Ianthe), Rae, Kurt, Darwin, Robin (Tammy), Shawna, and Darryl. Bernard George will be greatly remembered and missed by many other relatives and friends.\nThe celebration of life for Bernard George will take place on November 25, 2024.
