SUMMARY:Murdock (Mike) Fitzpatrick
DESCRIPTION:In Loving Memory\nAfter a life full of love, Murdock passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the age of 92.\nBorn in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia he was Predeceased by his Parents Marion and Daniel Fitzpatrick. Murdock came from a large family of brothers and sisters. He is survived by siblings, Stella Stewart (Predeceased husband Raymond), Alex Fitzpatrick (wife Joy), Anna Kearnes (Predeceased husband Chuck), Doris Cook (husband Percy), James Fitzpatrick (wife Katy), Mabel Bingley (husband Havelock). He is Predeceased by siblings Mary Boudreau (Predeceased husband Eugene), Daniel Fitzpatrick (survived by wife Brenda), Patrick Fitzpatrick.\nMurdock moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario in the early 1950’s with the love of his life Marie (nee Carrigan) where they were married, raised six children and remained working and residing. He was a devoted husband until the day Marie passed in 1994, and he continued to keep her in his heart. He was a loving father to six children, Mary Leney (husband Bob), Lester Fitzpatrick (wife Patsy), Susan Paddison, Mike Fitzpatrick, Patricia Chassels (husband Jeff) and Debbie Fitzpatrick. He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren, Graham Leney, Jay Leney, Damon Fitzpatrick, Abby Charlton, Lisa Poole, Sean Paddison, Candace Fitzpatrick, Angel Fitzpatrick, Mikey Fitzpatrick, Marie Fitzpatrick, Angela Fitzpatrick, and their spouses and partners and a proud great grandfather to 14 great grandchildren, Nathan, Clara, Seth, Shelby, Chloe, Emsley, Ryver, Rhett, Remi, Marlon, Isla, Emily, Cierra and Cheyenne.\nMurdock was loved and will be remembered by many, nieces, nephews, friends and their families.\nAs a young family, Murdock and Marie would bundle the kids into the car every year for a family vacation to his birthplace in Nova Scotia. These trips were often the opportunity to meet up with his extended family, including his parents, siblings along with their children, and many friends. These trips remain a source of many happy memories for all of his family. Eventually, Murdock and Marie purchased their own piece of land there, and built a cottage for which they spent many vacations together before Marie passed. He continued to go to his cottage in Nova Scotia, along with many family members and friends until he was no longer able to travel. He always called Nova Scotia home.\nMurdock, Marie and family also spent much time during the summer months at their trailer in Birdsall Beach Resort on Rice Lake in Ontario. This also brought many memories to share and remember.\nWith age his children have come to appreciate what a wonderful role model he was. He was always there when someone needed support. He was the epitome of a good human being. He was totally devoted and dedicated to all of us and to his extended family. He cherished his time with family with whom he shared his keen sense of humour and an endearing ability to tell jokes and make us laugh. He truly represented a life well lived. We are deeply saddened by his passing and will miss him greatly, but he lives on in our many memories and shared conversations. We find comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with the love of his life, and recognize the blessing it has been to share his life for so long.\nMany thanks to all the staff at Age Care Ballycliffe Nursing home for their amazing care over the past years. Your dedication and concern is greatly appreciated. You became his extended family.\nGoodbye is not forever, it is not the end, it simply means we will miss you until we meet again. We love you.\nIf desired, donations may be made to Sick Kids Hospital, or Canadian Cancer Society.\nFuneral Livestream:\n\n \nBurial Service Livestream:\n\n
