DESCRIPTION:In Loving Memory\nSeptember 29, 1939 – December 24, 2024\nIt is with deep sadness that the family of Ynolde Patricia Best announce her peaceful passing on December 24th, 2024, at the age of 85.  Ynolde was born on September 29th, 1939, to Fenwick  Abner and Carmen Abner formerly Asson in Trinidad and Tobago.  She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Best for 57 years.  The proud and dedicated mother of Kelly Buist (Joshua) and Lesley Dottin (Patrick).  She enjoyed spending time with her grand-daughters, Kendra, Laila and Erin.  She will be fondly remembered by her friends and family in Canada, England, US and Trinidad.\nAfter graduating from high school Ynolde left Trinidad for England to begin her training at St Crispens Nursing School.  It was in England that Ynolde would be reunited with the boy that had loved her from a distance since elementary school.  Thomas would take the train with Ynolde every evening after school.  It wasn’t long before walks in the park turned into a walk down the aisle in 1964.  In 1966 they decided to leave England for Canada.   Ynolde remained in London to complete her Midwife training, and Thomas enrolled at the University of Windsor. They would eventually leave Windsor for Toronto where they developed roots and started a family with the birth of Kelly Patricia in 1973 and Lesley Ynolde arriving in 1975.\nYnolde worked in labor and delivery for almost 30 years at Scarborough General Hospital, before retiring in 2000.  Ynolde was the glue that kept the family here and abroad connected.  She was affectionately called “Auntie Patsy” and she would always offer words of encouragement and support to anyone in need.  She was charitable and generous, always making sure everyone was taken care of. Ynolde’s legacy will be her acts of service for others. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and support workers for their dedicated and endless support and care during Ynolde’s illness.\n \nFuneral Livestream:\n\n
