SUMMARY:Gaston Donaldson
DESCRIPTION:In Loving Memory\n1947 – 2024\nIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Gaston Delano Donaldson,\naffectionately known to many as Gladston, Juicy, and Cat. Gaston, aged 77, of Kingston, Jamaica, passed away on December 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.\nBorn on October 13, 1947, to Kathleen Stanley and Richard Donaldson, Gaston was the eldest and only son to his mother, Kathleen. Raised in Kingston, Jamaica, he was a passionate and hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to his craft and his family. Gaston graduated from Providence All Age School before pursuing a career as a mechanic, later venturing into the transportation industry. His skills as a mechanic and driver were unmatched, and he proudly worked with Jamaica’s first bus company, Jamaica Omnibus Bus, where he honed his talents.\nAs a young boy, Gaston enjoyed playing marbles, gig, and fixing vehicles. His love for cars and mechanics led him to become a skilled driver, and his mastery in this field earned him a place among those who shaped the landscape of Jamaica’s transport system. But it was not just his technical abilities that left a lasting impact; it was his warm spirit and love for life that endeared him to everyone he met.\nGaston was a man of deep values, and his greatest pride was in the success of his children. He often shared that his greatest accomplishment was raising his children to be upstanding citizens. His legacy will live on through his children Richard, Kirk, Gregory and Tresa; his beloved sisters Hilda, Marjorie, and Claudine; his 13 grandchildren; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.\nGaston was predeceased by his son Everton Donaldson, who passed away in 2023.\nIn 2024, Gaston made the decision to migrate to Canada to live with his daughter, where he spent his final months surrounded by his family, making memories and sharing his immense humor and wisdom. His love for his family, his laugh, and his guidance will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.\nA man of great humor, strength, and wisdom, Gaston’s love and presence will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace, knowing his legacy will continue through the generations he touched.\nFuneral details will be shared by the family.\n \nFuneral Service Livestream:\n\n\nBurial Service Livestream:\n\n
