SUMMARY:Dorothy Elizabeth Ardagh
DESCRIPTION:In Loving Memory\n\n\nDorothy “Sam” Elizabeth Ardagh\nJanuary 18, 1948 – March 28, 2025\nDorothy “Sam” Elizabeth Ardagh, 77, of Ajax, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on March 28, 2025, leaving a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.\nBorn in Oshawa on January 18, 1948, Sam grew up on her family’s farm in north Ajax. She was deeply dedicated to her family and home for many years before returning to work in 1980, where she excelled in various administrative roles. Sam was also an inspiring adult learner, earning her English university degree while working full-time and raising a family.\nAn avid reader, Sam shared her love for literature through a 15-year membership in her book club. She also had a deep understanding and appreciation for nature, which she expressed through the stunning flower garden she tended to with great care.\nSam’s wisdom and intuition were a guiding light for those around her, and she had an extraordinary ability to make people feel truly heard and understood. She was known for her infectious laugh and for giving the best hugs in the world—hugs that made everyone feel safe, loved, and cherished.\nWhile she was a devoted mother of three, Sam’s greatest pride and joy were her nine grandchildren. She treasured every moment with them, whether it was watching them play hockey, hosting sleepovers at her home, taking them on summer adventures at her trailer, or spoiling them with her famous candy pantry.\nSam also found great joy in the friendships she cultivated over the years. She spent many happy times with her close friends, enjoying golf, travel, shared meals, and hosting memorable St. Patrick’s Day parties.\nSam was predeceased by her sister Mary, her mother Norma, her father Gordon, her husband Denis, and her brothers Robert and Ron. She is survived by her sister Peggy; her three children: Chris (Krista), Greg (Deb), and Jennifer (Oliver); and her nine grandchildren: Jacob, Sydney, Denis, Mikey, Luke, Ben, Jack, Keaton, and Allison. They will forever carry with them the lasting impact of her love and the joy she brought into their lives.\nVisitation will be held on Friday, April 4th, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at McEachnie Funeral Home, with the service following immediately at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Oak Ridges Hospice or Operation Smile, in her name, would be greatly appreciated.\n\n\nFuneral Service Livestream:\n\n\n \n \nTechnical Difficulties Disclaimer:\n*In the event of technical difficulties, kindly refresh the webpage.
