SUMMARY:Mignon Parris
DESCRIPTION:\n\nIn Loving Memory\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJanuary 14, 1940 – October 7, 2025\nIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mignon Parris who departed this life peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Scarborough, Ontario, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.\nBorn on January 14, 1940, in Sealy Hall, St. John, Barbados, Mignon was the beloved daughter of Casbourn and Marion, and sister to Dean, Jean, Victor, Stetson, Winston, Vivian and Monroe. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Winston, Victor, and Monroe.\nAt a young age, Mignon left Barbados to pursue her passion for caring for others, immigrating to London, England, where she studied nursing at the prestigious Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care. After earning her qualifications, she worked as a midwife, often travelling by bicycle through London’s streets to attend to her patients—an early testament to her dedication and compassion.\nIn 1968, Mignon immigrated to Canada to begin a new chapter. Her first position was at Toronto General Hospital in the Emergency Department. She later joined Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where she proudly served in the world-renowned Intensive Care Unit for over 30 years. Alongside her full-time work, she also lent her skill and kindness to other hospitals including The Hospital for Sick Children, Baycrest, St. Michael’s, and Runnymede, among others.\nMignon was admired for her exceptional work ethic, often volunteering for extended hours and multiple shifts. Her dedication to her patients and colleagues reflected her boundless compassion, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to the service of others. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will remember her as a woman of extraordinary kindness, integrity, and quiet strength.\nMignon was a devoted wife to Wallace Parris, a cherished mother to Paul, Karriema and Ken, a loving grandmother to Shianne, Kairus, Elijah, Sienna-Rose and Jinora, and a caring sister and friend to many.\nHer legacy of love, service, and compassion will live on in the countless lives she touched —through her care, her generosity, and her gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.\n\n\n \nTechnical Difficulties Disclaimer:\n*In the event of technical difficulties, kindly refresh the webpage.
