SUMMARY:Bernice Buchoon
DESCRIPTION:\n\nIn Loving Memory\n\n\n\nBernice Buchoon, age 84, of Oshawa, Ontario, passed away on Monday, October 20th, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished forever.\nBorn in Trinidad and Tobago on May 7th, 1941, to Subratan Abdool (mother) and Abdool Rahaman (father), Bernice spent her life dedicated to her family. Her greatest joy was creating a loving home where everyone felt welcome. No family gathering was complete without her cooking — made with love and tasting of her love — and various board games, her favourite being Rummy-O. She had a special way of making every occasion feel extraordinary.\nShe will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, love for God, her husband, and her family. She had a particular talent for cooking and baking (especially her zucchini bread), as well as sewing, and she generously shared her gifts with everyone she knew. Her wisdom and listening ear made her a guiding light for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always offering comfort and strength.\nBernice is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, John Buchoon; cherished mother to Andrew Buchoon, Rachael Maillard (spouse Trevor), and Sharon (spouse Adrian); her grandchildren, Justin (spouse Stacy), Jadon, Cody, Tristen (spouse Alexandra), Jesse, and Tiana; and her great-grandchildren, Ma’Ki, Taedyn, Fabian, Jahziah, Jahsim, Noah, Adonis, Katalaya, and Janaye. She was a caring sister to Korisha, Shah, David, and Afrose, and a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving grandson Jeshua Buchoon, and her sisters Asiyah and Sackina. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. She may be gone, but her spirit lives on in the beautiful memories she created and the lessons of love she taught us all.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Venezuelan Children’s Home (Berean Baptist Church).\n \nTechnical Difficulties Disclaimer:\n*In the event of technical difficulties, kindly refresh the webpage.
