SUMMARY:Audrey June Patricia Teschner
DESCRIPTION:\n\nIn Loving Memory\n\n\n\n\nAudrey June Patricia Teschner (née Briscoe)\nJune 10, 1930 – November 9, 2025\nKnown as Pat to her friends and Oma to her family, Audrey June Patricia Teschner passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the age of 95.\nBorn in Kingston, Jamaica on June 10, 1930, Pat moved to Canada in 1954, where she met her husband Peter Teschner at the YMCA in Toronto on December 12, 1954. They married on February 14, 1956, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kingston, Jamaica, where Pat grew up as a little girl. They celebrated 69 adventurous years of marriage together.\nPat worked for a law firm in Jamaica before emigrating to Canada, sponsored by her older sister Shirley. After marrying Peter, she dedicated herself to raising their family while also working alongside Peter in his construction company, where she managed all aspects of the office and prepared homes for sale. She also worked for the Government of Canada, where she managed a team of over 17 office workers, all while supporting her family.\nPat and Peter spent their retirement years sailing the Caribbean on their boat, embarking on one of their biggest adventures on September 9, 1985, when they sailed from Whitby, Ontario all the way to Trinidad. Pat loved to travel the world and saw more than most people could dream of – from African safaris to parasailing in Mexico to trekking through the jungles of Thailand on elephant back to countless cruises they enjoyed together.\nShe was a constant source of light and support for everyone around her. While wintering in St. Lucia from 2009 to 2011, Pat’s compassion led her to organize a grassroots campaign to build a home for Nicolas, a local fisherman who had lost everything in a storm. Working alongside her dear friend Sue, they rallied the community to raise funds and give Nicolas a fresh start.\nFamily meant everything to Pat. She was kind to everyone she met and always willing to be there for them. She loved cooking for family, hosting dinners, and sharing stories about her travels. She learned to cook as a young girl in Jamaica, watching and learning from the housekeepers, and always made amazing dishes that everyone loved.\nPat made countless friends over the years through her travels and the yachting community, which she loved being part of. She was active in the local community in St. Lucia, attending St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Gros Islet every Sunday.\nPat is survived by her loving husband Peter, her children Mike (Lea-Alice) and Ingrid (Gordon), her grandchildren Christopher and Andrew (Ingrid’s children), Justin, Lidianne, Josh, Louise, Joey, and Jonathan (Mike’s children), and her great-grandchildren Jaidyn (Justin), Everette and Nolan (Lidianne), and Olivia, Ethan, and Evelyn (Josh). She is also survived by Marisa, David, and Carrie, and their children Ethan and Henry (Marisa), Olly and Everett (David), and Benjamin and Holden (Carrie).\nPat was predeceased by her father Allen Briscoe, her mother Louise Briscoe (née Knox), and her siblings Phillip (Bobby), Anthony, Shirley, and Pamela.\nPat and Peter lived most of their lives in Scarborough in a home that backed onto a ravine where Pat loved watching the wildlife. Pat’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Amica in Pickering, where she resided from October 2022 until her passing.\nA funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, ON L1T 2Z7, with visitation one hour prior. Refreshments will follow the service. Pat will be cremated following the service. As per her wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region or the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging.\nPat’s dear friends include Julio and Elena, Hans and Carola, Norman and Sue, Hans and Welima, and Volkmar and Charlotte—friendships that spanned decades and continents. She also cherished her longtime neighbors in Scarborough, including Bill and Ruth, and Marilyn McMillan, who became like family over the years.\nPat’s love for family, passion for travel, and compassion for others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.\n \n\n\n\n\nTechnical Difficulties Disclaimer:\n*In the event of technical difficulties, kindly refresh the webpage.
