DESCRIPTION:In Loving Memory\n\n\n\nIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Melda Alama Whitmore, who left us on February 27, 2026.\nBorn on August 20, 1939, in Cousins Cove, Hanover, Jamaica, W.I. She was the daughter of Icylin Pearce and Spencer Whitmore.\nHer beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Winsome Ricketts (nee Brown), Paul Bridge (Karyn), Phillip Bridge (Connie), Grandchildren: Randy Ricketts, Tyrone Aliman, Troy Dawkins, Wayne Bridge (DeAsia), Britnee Ramdas, Tanneisha Ricketts, Maya Bridge, Tiana Aliman and Kayla Townsend, Malik Bridge, Isaiah Bridge, Great Grandchildren: Ra’naizha Williams, Echo Aliman-Ellis and Cyrus Bridge.\nMelda is preceded in death by her parents, Spencer Whitmore and Icylin Pearce along with her children, Vinnett Headad, Cheryl Crooks and grandson Ronald Williams.\nMelda enjoyed reading her bible and singing her favourite hymns. She was known for her strong disciplinary personality and a loving heart. She loved knitting, sewing and baking. We will miss her radiant smile, guidance, disciplinary words for her grand children and the way she would say things that made us laugh.\nSpecial thanks to the staff at Fieldstones Commons Care Community for the kindness, love and dignified care they provided to our mother over the past fifteen years.\nOur family will receive condolences on March 13, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village, Ajax, ON L1T 2Z7.
