DESCRIPTION:In Loving Memory\n\n\nGerald “Gerry” Rouse\n1943 – 2026\nIt is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry on June 30, 2026, peacefully surrounded by his family at the Scarborough Grace Hospital at the age of 82.\nGerry was predeceased by his mother Violet Luke, father Gerald Rouse, wife Mary Anne, brother Donald and sister Sharon. He is survived by his son Murray (Corrine) and daughter Sonya (Jon). Loving grandfather to Jake (Hayley), Jesse (Morgan), Josh (Evee), Jed (Stephanie), Travis, Liam, Jayden, Nicole (Darjan) and Taneeka. Beloved great grandfather to seven great grandchildren. Dear sisters Marlene and Heather.\nStepfather to Tracey (Gerry), Melissa and Robert. Grandchildren Tamaris and great grandchild Miles.\nGerry will be missed by the mother of his children Sara, by his special PEI family and many friends and coworkers from his General Motors family.\nGerry was employed until his retirement with General Motors Canada. He first began at the Frigidaire plant in Scarborough and saw it through the conversion of Delco Canada until it finally became the Scarborough Van plant. He also worked at the Oshawa GM plant and later in Detroit, Michigan. Gerry worked his way up the ladder into supervisory positions and remained close to many of his coworkers throughout life.\nGerry was an avid fan of ISMA racing, air shows, country music and fishing. He loved animals and cared deeply for the many dogs he owned throughout his life.\nVisitation will be held on Monday July 6th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax. Interment will be held at Erskine Cemetery, 1999 Fairport Road, Pickering. A reception will be held at the McEachnie Funeral Home – Family Centre after the interment.\nDonations to the Shades of Hope Wildlife refuge https://www.shadesofhope.ca/ and Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary https://www.dogtales.ca/ in memory of Gerry will be appreciated by the family.\n\n \nTechnical Difficulties Disclaimer:\n*In the event of technical difficulties, kindly refresh the webpage.
