In Loving Memory of Aerzina Gretel Payne

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aerzina Payne, at the age of 99 years. Aerzina passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026. She was born on June 8, 1927, in the Parish of St. John, Barbados.

She was predeceased by her siblings Selene, Cuthbert, Charles, and Ester. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings Bertram, Sandra Kelly, Joan, Victor, and Eucene. She was married to the late James Arthur Payne.

Aerzina is survived by her four children: Courtney (Patricia), Peter (Coral), Sandra (Argyle – deceased), Jerry (Anita), and Marie, whom she loved and cared for as her own.
She leaves behind her grandchildren Sharon, Tanya, Allison, Andrea, Natalie, Ashley, Daniel, Alicia, and Kevin, and her great-grandchildren Mykal, Shane, Reanna, Tyler, Kayden, Demyles, Brooklyn, Logan, Skye, and Kevia.

She was the matriarch of our family—a resilient, religious, dedicated, hardworking, and fierce woman who was not easily shaken. She had a sharp wit, an unfiltered, no-nonsense way about her, and a dry sense of humour.

She will always be remembered for her famous sayings. One that she often said in times of heartache and tribulation was, “Don’t let your heart be troubled.”

We will miss you, Granny. Forever in our hearts.
