Aston George Munroe
In Loving Memory
Aston George Munroe, aged 82, passed away on August 30, 2026 at Sunnybrook Health + Science Center, Toronto. He was born on July 20, 1944 in Lances Bay, Hanover, Jamaica, to Felicia MacLean and Alijah Munroe, and is predeceased by his sister Violet (Vi) Munroe. Aston is survived by his daughter Michelle and his lifetime partner Corrie van der Kuur. He will be sadly missed by Veich, Fiona, Mark and Ricardo and the rest of the family.
Aston was raised by his mother (“Mum”) in Lances Bay Hanover Jamaica in humble beginnings.
In coming to Canada in 1970 he was never afraid of hard work and even sold vacuum cleaners. He retired as an experienced crane operator from the Gerdau Steel Plant, Whitby, after also working at Great West Steel as a welder. He loved his music, animals and had a passion for fishing.
Once in Canada Aston loved his cars and finally was able to buy his own corvette. Walking, and his dogs Tippy and Lucy meant the world to him. He was always generous and caring for his family.
