Asunta Fernando

In Loving Memory

Asunta is lovingly remembered by her husband, Alphonse Fernando; her children and their spouses, Sharmila (Neil) and Manoj (Yelitza); and her five cherished grandchildren: Shania, Shane, Ashan, Caelen, and Sofia.

Born to JHB and Susamma Fernando, Asunta was a beloved member of a large and close-knit family that included Oliver and Miriam Fernando, Tommy and Rachel Fernando, Emily and Lourdus Gonsalvez, Hilda and Moulin Fernando, Rita and Francis Gomez, Gertrude and Doshi Lane, Stanley and Pearl Fernando, Stella and Stanley Britto, Therese and Isidore Perez, and Beatrice and Neville Corea. Her memory will also live on in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends across the globe.

Asunta was a woman of many gifts. She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, mastery of the kitchen, and deep love of music and dance. She touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Asunta in her final months, including the compassionate staff at Lakeridge Health in Ajax.

Though her physical presence is no longer with us, Asunta will forever remain in our hearts, cherished and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation Details: Friends and family will be received at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax, ONT L1T 2Z7, on Wednesday, January 15th, from 4 to 8 p.m. This will be followed by a Mass and Service at St Francis De Sales Church, 1001 Ravenscroft Road, Ajax, ONT L1T 4X1, on Thursday, January 16th, at 10:30 a.m.
