Elizabeth Ann Hopkins
In Loving Memory
Elizabeth Ann Hopkins, known to most as Ann, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at The Bridge Hospice in Warkworth, Ontario, at the age of 73.
Ann spent most of her life in Ajax, Ontario, where she built a life centered around service, community, and family. Her parents were Herbert and Laura Hopkins. She was the eldest of five siblings and was predeceased by her sister Margaret. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers William Hopkins (and his wife Patricia) and John Hopkins (and his wife Karina), her sister Lynn Donohoe. She is also remembered by her nieces and nephews, Shawn Hopkins (and his daughters Shannon, Melanie and Lauren), Laura Bick (her husband Justin and their daughters Zoey and Lydia), Sarah Donohoe (and her daughter Katie), Michael Donohoe (and his partner Katlin), Justin Hopkins (his wife Rebecca and their sons Brooks and Jude) and Zachary Hopkins.
Ann had a long and fulfilling career with Ontario Power Generation, where she took great pride in the work she did and the contributions she made throughout her years of service.
Her commitment to community and service extended far beyond her professional life. Ann was a dedicated member of Scouts Canada for 53 years, serving both as a leader and a trainer, helping to guide and mentor generations of young people. She was also a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 20 years and faithfully served as an elder at St. Timothy’s Church for over two decades.
Ann lived life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved attending Toronto Blue Jays games, cheering on her team whenever she could. She also enjoyed going to the theatre, attending concerts, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Those who knew Ann will remember her for her positivity and optimism, her generosity, and her unwavering desire to help others whenever she could. Her warm and caring nature touched many lives, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love.
For her memorial service, you’re invited to wear bright colours, Blue Jays jerseys, or Scouting uniforms – whichever feels most appropriate to you.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s memory may be made to Scouts Canada or Jays Care, two organizations that were close to her heart.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
