In Loving Memory

August 23rd, 1928 – January 10th, 2025

With great sadness the family announces the passing of Elva Correia.

Born in Georgetown, Guyana on August 23rd, 1928, mom passed away peacefully on Friday January 10th, 2025, at her home in Pickering, Ontario.

Loving wife of the late Michael Philip Correia and loving mother of Rosalie (Heinz), Keith (late Marilyn), Elizabeth (Paul), Jennifer (John), Susanne, and Paul (Pauline). Cherished Grandmother to 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Loving daughter to her parents John and Ursula DeFreitas. She was pre-deceased by her sister Elaine, brothers Randy, Romeo (Elaine), Jerome, and John; sister-in-law Gertrude (James) and brother-in-Laws Clement (Celeste) and Stephen (Cecelia). Mom had tremendous love for her many nieces and nephews.

Mom was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother that loved her family deeply. She worked tirelessly each day to ensure that she provided her family with a loving home, and GREAT COOKING, which she passed down. Mom will be greatly missed.

We would like to express our gratitude to Mila Marcos for the tremendous care and comfort she provided mom over the past 4 1/2 years.

Mom, we appreciate you, your kind heart and thoughtfulness. We appreciate all you have done for us over the years. It was an honour to call you our Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Great-Great Grandma, Aunt and Friend. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.
