John Andrew Sills

John Andrew Sills was born in Georgetown, Guyana on October 5, 1949 to Lucius and Dorothy Sills. In his early 20’s, John moved to Scarborough, Canada with $27 in his pocket and a suitcase full of ambition. In Canada, John curated a life filled with love, laughter, family and countless friends.

John’s first love was always people. He was an amazing husband to his wife, Denise Sills of almost 50 years. He naturally mastered fatherhood, doting on his two daughters Julie and Krystel. He spent his final years as an active grandpa to four grandchildren, Jacob, Amari, Kaleb and Kaden.

Professionally, John served his community as a paramedic with the Toronto Ambulance Service for over 30 years.

John will be remembered as the gentle giant he was. He always had a smile and kind word for family, friends and strangers alike.
