Kathleen Squissato
In Loving Memory
Kathleen Squissato (née Behan)
Celebrating a Life Well-Lived
With hearts full of love and laughter, we remember Kathleen Squissato, who passed away on Jan. 23rd, 2026. Born on October 30th, 1933, in Powell River, British Columbia—a place she fondly called home no matter how many years she lived in Ontario—Kathleen embraced every day with boundless energy, creativity, and a zest for life.
Predeceased by her husband Edmund and youngest son Aldo, Kathleen’s legacy lives on in her children: Chris (Barb), Paula (Mike), Patrick (Donna), as well as her six grandchildren—Sean, Ben, Nathaniel, Kate, Thomas, and Abigail—who love to share stories and memories about Nan, which are sure to inspire laughter and joy for years to come.
As one of 12 siblings born to Patrick and Marion Behan (née Sheard), Kathleen held family close and treasured every visit home, sharing lively stories and adventures with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by nine siblings leaving behind her brother Danny and loving sister Yvonne. She also leaves behind many cherished in laws in the Squissato family who meant so much to her.
Her life was filled with more hobbies than could fit on any list, and her enthusiasm for planning outings and gatherings kept everyone on their toes.
Kathleen enjoyed the last five years as a resident at Fairview Lodge in Whitby, entertaining many with her singing and quick wit. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the wonderful staff and caregivers who helped make her final years so bright.
Kathleen’s spirit will be remembered for her quick laughter, generous heart, and the joyful way she welcomed everyone into her world. Her memory is a celebration, reminding us all to keep moving, keep laughing, and keep planning the next adventure.
