Lamont was a skilled Welder and an avid Football (soccer) enthusiast. He lived in Jamaica for 33 years and immigrated to Canada in 1981 to join his family who had migrated to Canada over the years. Lamont was a religious man who dedicated his life to Rastafarianism in his early years. While he was often known for his serious demeanor, beneath it all was a man with a heart of gold. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty touched everyone around him. Despite his reserved nature, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer support, and show compassion to those he loved. His actions spoke louder than words and his love for his family was evident in everything he did.
In his later years, Lamont faced several medical challenges that required him to use a wheelchair and receive round-the-clock care. He resided at Orchard Villa Long-Term Care Home for 22 years, where he was lovingly supported until his passing. During his time at Orchard Villa, Lamont began attending the Agape Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was eventually baptized as a Seventh-day Adventist.
