In Loving Memory
Ms. Marcia Beverley Blake
Sunrise: February 1, 1956
Sunset: February 27, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marcia Beverley Blake, who transitioned peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by close friends and family. Marcia was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose infectious personality and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Born on February 1, 1956, in Harmony Vale, St. Ann, Jamaica, Marcia was one of ten children and was affectionately known as Shirley by family and friends. She later migrated to Canada in the 1980s, where she was embraced by an extended family of relatives and friends who adored her. She carried with her the strong values instilled by her parents, Clifford and Ruby James, who were well respected in their community.
Marcia’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her four children and a proud grandmother to her grandson. She lovingly raised her children while balancing both discipline and affection, and as they grew older their relationship evolved into deep friendship—especially with her eldest daughter, Kareen. Known as the “cool mom,” Marcia had a way of making everyone feel welcome and at home.
Professionally, Marcia dedicated over 20 years of service to Scotiabank, she would later move on to the role of Debt Advisor, helping individuals resolve financial challenges and rebuild their credit. She approached this work with compassion, patience, and genuine care for others.
Marcia was known for her vibrant personality, generosity, and ability to light up any room she entered. Her home, and her heart were always open to those in need. Even while courageously battling cancer, her joyful spirit and love for life never dimmed.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Kareen, Tasha, and Tiffany; her son Shaquille; her grandson D’Andrew; her brothers Dennis, Leroy, Desmond, Mikey, and Trevor; her sisters Madge, Valrie, Janet, and Janice; her aunts Norma and Elaine; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Though many hearts are broken by her passing, Marcia’s kindness, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be collected for Rosewood Church in appreciation of their support in celebrating Marcia’s homegoing.
