It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Maureen Cynthia Richards on December 19, 2025, at the age of 79.

Maureen was born in Kingston, Jamaica on July 13, 1946, to Gertrude Taylor before she was adopted by Slevin and Clarise Largie. She attended Covenant of Mercy (Alpha) Academy for primary school and graduated from Holy Trinity High School. During her youth, Maureen met Sturdy Harrison with whom she had three children. She immigrated to Canada in 1980 and settled in Toronto, where she built a beautiful life with her children and grandchildren.

Known to be outspoken and direct, Maureen was strong-willed, witty and resilient. She was predeceased by her mother Gertrude, adoptive parents Slevin and Clarise, daughter Sharon Patricia Harrison and grandson LJ Grant-Dizon.

She leaves to mourn: her daughter Nadine Onicka Richards (son-in-law Travis) and son Osaka Ricardo Harrison (daughter-in-law Ivy). Five grandchildren: Ronald Harrison Mantock (daughter-in-law Crystal), Ashanti Harrison, Iesha Ishicka Harrison, Travis Richards Jr. (nicknamed TJ), and Javien Noah Harrison. Five great-grandchildren: Brandon Mantock, Savannah Mantock, Ariana Harrison, Amari Harrison and Amir Harrison. Siblings Carl, Audrey, Noel, Joy and Juliet and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be held for Maureen on January 3, 2026, at McEachnie Funeral Home, located at 28 Old Kingston Road, Pickering Village, Ajax. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the funeral service will be at 1 p.m. The interment will be at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens, located at 1757 Church Street N., Ajax.

For those who wish to pay their respects but are unable to travel, the service will also be livestreamed.
