Michael Flynn
In Loving Memory
In the morning of May 16th, at the age of 70, Mike Flynn passed peacefully with family by his side. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity and commitment.
Mike approached life with a quiet yet confident strength. He was a great listener who would equally give great advice (but only if solicited) to friends, family and strangers alike.
A true family man, he would drop everything when a loved one needed his support, encouragement, help, guidance or simply his presence and would do so without complaint or judgment.
A 5th degree black belt judoka, Mike was a fighter to the end. We are comforted that he was recently awarded for his dedication to the sport by our club Ajax Budokan Judo Club
Respected in his field in heating and air conditioning for over 40 years, he was also dedicated to his craft. And, in later years as a professor, HVAC students beared witness to his brilliance and learned from a true pro.
Mike loved his dogs and his dogs loved him right back. His happy place was often sitting out back with a beer in one hand and his dog by his side.
He also had a wicked sense of humour that will be recalled fondly as we grieve this profound loss.
He is survived by his loving wife Darlene, children Michelle (Alan), Tara (Chris) and Kevin and grandchildren Kaidence, Carter, Keira, Rylie, Brennan and Colton.
“When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.”
