Neeta Louisa Gomes
In Loving Memory
Neeta Louisa Gomes, 99 years old, died peacefully on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 at Seven Oaks Long Term Care in Scarborough, Ontario. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on August 8th, 1927 to Susan (Elizabeth) Durasammy and Albert Roberts in Georgetown, Guyana. She was the fierce sister to Stella, James (Boboy) and Joyce; making sure they were protected and cared for.
She was married to the late Albert Gomes and they had twelve children, Yvonne, Michael, Rita, Yvette, Albert, Barbara, Sylvester, Patrick (Gary), Malcolm, Debra, Brenda and Sharon.
Neeta was a force to be reckoned with and was loved and respected by everyone she came into contact with. She loved taking care of people and was an amazing cook and literally fed the neighborhood on a daily basis. She was also somewhat of a legend as the local homeopathic guru… there was no illness she couldn’t cure with her tricks of the trade or vast knowledge of bushes and teas and their applications.
Neeta is survived by 11 Children, 30 Grand-Children, 42 Great-Grand Children and 6 Great-Great Grand Children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Gomes; her parents Suzanne and Albert, her siblings, Stella, James (Boboy) and Joyce, her daughter Yvonne, her grand-daughter Michelle and her great-grand daughter Lexi.
Neeta was dearly loved and will be desperately missed by her Loved Ones. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in honour of Neeta Louisa Gomes.
