Sheila Anne Hercules
A tragedy has taken from us a presence and spirit greater than life. Sheila was an inspiration to friends, family, and colleagues – giving everything of herself so that others could grow, learn and love. Never a quiet soul, she would use her larger than life talents of love, laughter, spirit and enduring empathy to raise and guide the hope in others. If ever you met Sheila, you know you were touched by an angel. Forever loved by her husband Owen Hercules (married 41 yrs), loving and devoted mother to sons Andrew, Adam (Ashley and grandmother to Kyler and Myla), Alex (Reanna), and Aidan. Daughter of Hugh (d. 2000) and Cathy McElhinney. Sister of Maggie Wu (Pat), and brothers Hugh (Kathleen), Mark, (Pam), Matthew (Michelle). Aunt to Michael, Matthew, Jason, Jonathan, Taylor, Morgan, Jeremy, Amy, Daniel, Georgia and Callaghan.
Sheila’s life – like a map for a road less traveled – was filled with incredible stories, personal victories, tremendous struggles …but always and eventually ended in success. Sheila’s path was filled with friends and people she connected with. Her people were her stars in the sky. Sheila could command a room of strangers and with just her words make the room fall silent in contemplation – and to talk with her alone, if ever you struggled or had self doubt – she would have you believe that you could lead an army. Shelia’s greatest gift was her ability to connect with people and make them feel seen and feel heard. Sheila Hercules is an eternal gift we all get to cherish and share forever more.
