Tapani “Steve” Kivisto
Forever in our Hearts
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Tapani “Steve” Kivisto, on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Geonelle Kivisto (nee Ritchie), he is survived by his children Liisa (Mark) Kashul, Leena (Wayne) Ballew and Paul (Coby) Kivisto, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to friends and family in Canada and the United States, Steve will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, and extended family in Finland. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Mount Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road in Whitby, ON, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a chapel service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Mount Lawn Cemetery. After burial, please join the family for a reception and fellowship at 1:00 p.m. at College Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1164 King St East, in Oshawa, ON.
