In Loving Memory

William Austin Perry
1940 – 2026

Peacefully, in his 86th year, after battling COPD for many years, and surrounded by his family. William (Bud) predeceased by his beautiful wife Bertille (nee Spofford) leaves behind his beloved children Nadine Patricia (Tony), and Sean William (Cowboy) Perry. Proud grandfather of Aaron, Jordan and Evan. Bud will be remembered by nieces and nephews Blake, Sherilyn, Michelle, Leona and Barry and his brother Robert. Bud is predeceased by his parents Robert and Pearl (nee Green), and siblings Donna, Larry and Margaret. Buds’ friends will remember his great love for the game of golf, and his urging to just enjoy the game and the beautiful scenery on the course. Not that he didn’t also love to win! Friends and family will agree that he has always been generous when he could, even being sure to feed whatever wildlife might cross his path. He was a proud Union guy, even still paying his dues to the very end. From the earliest age, Bud only ever wanted to operate a crane and was never happier than when he was in the cab. His work was the impetus for his Buckets, but his mind was always at work mulling over safer, more efficient ways that things could be done. That never changed, and he was still sharp as a tac, and always thinking. He was proud of the work he did and he had a strong work ethic which he has tried to instill in his children and grandchildren at any opportunity. We still had so much to learn from him. Bud was grateful for the kindness of the staff at Hearthstone by the Lake, and the care and attention he received at Joeseph Brant Hospital, and the Ottawa General Hospital.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 6th, between 5-6 p.m. at McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax, ON, L1T 2Z7. Celebration of Life to follow in the Chapel immediately afterwards. Bud had a soft spot for children and animals in need and has always been a generous donor to Sick Kids Hospital, the Humane Society and the War Amps. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made at any of the above charities.
